Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 12–9 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. New Hartford is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New Hartford is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

It’s a cute little Italian restaurant in New Hartford. As someone who lives out of state, I appreciated the cute bakery and hometown atmosphere. I made a reservation online for 7:30, and upon arriving had to wait 15 minutes before someone sat us. The host had wandered away and was doing two or three other jobs. I noticed that at one point 7 plates were sitting on the kitchen window cooking under the heat lamp. Were no servers available to do their jobs? After finally being sat, we saw a few other tables around who had been sat before we got there, with nothing in front of them. We ended up waiting close to a half hour for a server to come around. When he finally did show up (to bring us a thing of bread and take our drink orders), he let us know that they were out of water cups. Turns out they were backed up in the kitchen, or maybe the dishwasher hadn’t clocked in yet, so then he told us we’d be waiting another 15 minutes for the glasses to get cleaned, and then they’d finally bring us something to drink. Waters trickled in (pun not intended) for the next 10 minutes. While we waited, the server walked right past us a bunch of times, awkwardly avoiding eye contact. After an hour

Excellent food and extremely generous portions. The service was very quick and attentive. An added touch that they knew exactly which plate went where instead of asking β€œwho got the…”. Everyone loved their meal though mine was the lease impressive. My risotto was excellent and I also tried the gnocchi which was perfect. My chicken, though well seasoned, was a tad dry… better than undercooked but still. The pile of arugula on top was fresh and flavorful but a tad overwhelming and in my opinion would have gone better as crisped and hot or on the side cold. One minor nuance but it truly makes no sense to me why a place would not have prices next to alcoholic beverages. It dissuades the purchase and adds an extra unnecessary complication. I’d recommend adding prices to be fair to consumers and who knows maybe people might order more as a bonus!

This was our second time at CafΓ© Canole and it was just as amazing as the first. We sat outside and ordered the Chicken Milanese and Chicken Francese. Both were delicious, but the Milanese stole the show β€” crispy chicken over a rich cream sauce with the citrusy salad cutting through… one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. Dean, the owner, personally stopped by our table both times to check in, which really stood out. No special occasion needed β€” this will be a regular spot for us!

My wife Irene and I decided to go to Cafe CaNole for her milestone birthday, with a reservation for 8 PM and although there was no host or hostess at the door, we were quickly acknowledged by a passing server once we entered that someone will be over to seat us, and we were at our table within a couple minutes. They brought us waters and some fresh bread baked in house with a dipping oil. My wife got a limoncello spritz which also had some prosecco in it and is a seasonal drink special. The menu has a nice variety of choices and also offers items noted as vegetarian or gluten free options. We split a Caprese salad that had a light but lively vinaigrette. Super enjoyable and great for summer. We got the fried meatballs and the greens CaNole for appetizers. The meatballs were phenomenal, made with fresh garlic and as good as anything you’ll find from the old East Utica Italian neighborhood. They come with a red pasta sauce to dip in, which was one of the best pasta sauces we’ve had. The greens were really good, but on the spicy side. Next time I would ask for lite spice. We ate a few bites, then boxed them up and made them with eggs scrambled in for breakfast the next morning whi

Absolutley amazing Italian food! Just moved to town and truly wanted one of everythingnon the menu. Kept it simple last night, but will definetly be going back to try other options. The bakery looked amazing and we got some chocolate cake to go! Keep in mind the portions are massive here!
